... THE ENCASED ELASTIC!!!
Lol I'm so happy with this little detail, I used to wear belts with this kind of dresses but the skirt would go up while I walked and the belted part would be super hot and rather uncomfortable in summer whereas my elastic keeps everything in place and it's like I'm not even feeling it's there :)
The fabric is quilting cotton given to me by my mama for Christmas, it's a much darker shade of purple in reality and I adore its irregular lines print. I put a slit and orange button at the back because I wanted to and that's that.
Love the contrast of the button - very stylish feature on a great dress!
RépondreSupprimerCute little dress! Perfect for looking lovely with minimal effort. I just love a dress when temperatures are warm.
RépondreSupprimerLovely dress. I like your idea of the encased elastic. I too have problems with dresses that require belts (I can't get away without one on those loose styles), and this might be just the solution for them!
RépondreSupprimerThat is very cute and looks perfect for hot weather, loose and still stylish!
RépondreSupprimerLooks great on you. I love purple. I agree with you on elastic being cooler and generally more serviceable than a belt, I've put a few lines of shirring elastic in several tunic tops to give some waist definition and negate the need for a belt - it also means you don't need to muck around with getting the gathers just right under the belt because the elastic takes care of it.
RépondreSupprimerThank you girls, tigergirl I love your shirring solution because that's even lighter than my big elastic and you can play with the number of shirred rows to give your waist definition.
RépondreSupprimerLove this dress! Very cute.
RépondreSupprimerOoh I love the style of this dress, relaxed and cute! :)
